Maple Leaf ThinkFood! Centre

This innovative Culinary Centre boasts a variety of inventive features to enhance product development, culinary knowledge and interaction with customers and consumers. Located adjacent to the Corporate Headquarters designed by Adamson in 2006, this 5-storey structural steel office building includes a 599-stall parking lot and a 6,500 sf mechanical penthouse on top. The exterior street entrances and grounds were prepared and revised to provide a campus effect for the two structures.

Airport Corporate Centre

This eight-storey office building in Mississauga is located near Pearson International Airport, with easy access from Highways 401, 410, 403, and 427. Designed as a single or multiple-tenant occupancy building, the facility offers between 20,000 and 22,000 sf of office space on each of its eight floors. It features full fibre-optics and satellite reception capabilities for voice and data communication. This site also includes a one-storey, 75,000 sf parking structure.

Abu Dhabi Media Zone

The Abu Dhabi Media Zone is a mixed-use development that integrates three city blocks. The overall development is configured in a three-storey, pedestrian-oriented ‘deck’ that houses media functions, street-related retail/residential units, below-grade parking, and above ‘deck’ towers, all connected via a triple-height enclosed galleria.

The environment is designed with a view to actively encourage people to experience and interact with its creative environment.

Scottish Equitable Headquarters

The project includes 350,000 square feet of offices with a data centre and full catering facilities. A four-storey car park for 1,100 vehicles is located adjacent to the building.

Sited in the New Edinburgh Park development near the airport, the building was designed by Koetter, Kim & Associates (UK), in association with Adamson Associates as Executive Architect. Adamson Associates were also retained to provide the space planning for the new corporate headquarters building.

20 Churchill Place, State Street Bank Corporation l Canary Wharf

This 16-storey building in London’s Canary Wharf is the new European headquarters for the State Street Bank Corporation. Located at the eastern end of Canary Wharf’s east/west axis, the building serves as an entry point into the estate. In order to establish its presence as a gateway, the design complements the adjacent buildings, while creating a distinctive identity from the primarily glass structures surrounding the Headquarters. The design team accomplished this by combining the granite stone similar to that used in London’s historic buildings, with a glass skin.

Royal Bank of Scotland North American Headquarters

The new 12-story headquarters for the Royal Bank of Scotland in Stamford, Connecticut combines consumer banking, insurance and trading facilities under one roof.  Located on a 4.25-acre riverfront site, the distinctive glass and steel design makes a strong visual impact from Interstate 95, the busiest highway in the Northeast United States.

DuPont Canada Corporate Headquarters

Adamson Associates won the limited design competition for DuPont's new Canadian Headquarters. Its design facilitates a self-contained office and administration building incorporating laboratories, offices, a fitness centre and a pyramid shaped glass enclosed dining room complete with kitchen facilities.

The site was designed to accept a large reflecting pond, which is part of the storm water management solution for rural sites.

Biovail Corporate Head Office

The main feature of the building is a four-storey atrium lobby designed to form the shape of a chemistry flask. The massing of the building was designed to project a dramatic silhouette, visible from the major roads and highways surrounding the site. The front entrance is accessed from a granite-clad bridge suspended over a waterfall and reflecting pool. Phase 1 was completed in 2002 and in 2008, a second phase was completed.

Swiss Re America Headquarters

The spectacular setting overlooking a lake on a 125-acre heavily wooded site inspired a design with large windows that extend from one foot above floor level to the ceiling. The roof and spandrels are copper clad. Interior spaces are expansive with 11-foot ceilings. A separate parking structure for 874 cars was also provided. The design intent was to minimize the impact of the building on the site. The solution was narrow "fingers" into the woods.

This first phase was completed in 1999.
