The EDITION Residences

Adamson is the Interior Architect for this Marriott property that will open in 2014 under the direction of Hotelier Ian Schrager. Located in Miami’s South Beach area, The Edition Residences will be the first project of its kind for the luxury Hotel brand The Edition. The project includes 26 high-end Residential Condominiums designed by John Pawson Ltd. The oceanfront residences are designed with a sophisticated and elegant palette of natural materials and tones creating an ambience of space and light appropriate for the breathtaking backdrop.

MoMA Tower

Designed by Ateliers Jean Nouvel, this new iconic residential development is located adjacent to the existing Museum of Modern Art. The design features a faceted exterior that tapers to a set of three distinct asymmetrical crystalline peaks at the apex of the tower – each peak varying in height and shape.

The 750,000 sf building will rise 1,050 feet from the sidewalk. The typical residential floor-to-floor height will be twelve feet.

Shangri-La Hotel at London Bridge Tower

The five-star Shangri-La Hotel occupies floors 32-54 of the 72-storey London Bridge Tower.  Mere yards from London Bridge Station, the hotel provides links to both the tube network and railway network with services into central London and to Gatwick Airport. Despite being in the middle floors of the Shard Skyscraper, the hotel actually has its own dedicated entrance at street level. The hotel will provide 195 beautifully appointed rooms including 170 deluxe bedrooms with suite-style accommodation, along with 25 suites, some with specially designed Winter Gardens.

St. John's University Residences

The new residences of Briarwood Hall and Hollis Hall house a total of 639 students in two six-storey buildings. They are designed as individual housing units allowing a maximum of six students to live together sharing a common living room and bath facilities.

The exterior of the buildings incorporates a mix of stone, brick, glass and metal to achieve a modern interpretation of the strict master plan guidelines. The living room of each unit is cantilevered away from the building to allow a 180° view of the interior grassy plaza.

Waterside Inn

Overlooking the new Port Credit Marina Park, this older apartment building has been transformed into a four-star, 18-suite hotel, including a restaurant addition and renovated conference/banquet centre. The upper 11 floors have been upgraded to apartment suites.

Custom built-in millwork was designed for the specialty hotel suites. The exterior materials were selected to complement the adjacent park, continuing and enhancing Mississauga’s waterfront design context.

This project received the Award of Excellence, Mississauga Urban Design Award in 1998.

Universiti Tenaga Nasional – Phase II

Set within a heavily landscaped 450-acre site, Universiti Tenaga Nasional Phase II is a seamless extension to the academic buildings of phase I. Phase II includes more than 2,000 student apartments, a commercial centre, mosque, multi-purpose hall and a hotel as well as a sports and recreational building with accompanying playing fields.

Adamson Associates assisted in the design coordination of Phase I and master planning, project management, design coordination, as well as detailed design contract documents and technical assistance on several of the facilities in Phase II.

Veer Towers

The Veer Towers are a masterful translation of energy and excitement into physical form. Inclined at dramatic five-degree angles, the towers seem to dance with each other. The two 38-storey residential highrises accommodate approximately 335 condo residences for each building, placing residents close to CityCenter’s retail and entertainment core.

Veer expresses an interplay of public and private spaces, proximity to the action, and commanding views.

Mandarin Oriental Hotel and Residences | MGM Mirage CityCenter

The 46-storey building with an entrance on Las Vegas Boulevard, features a stunning glass façade affording dynamic views from public spaces and the hotel’s 310 spacious guestrooms and 90 luxuriously appointed suites. The Sky Lobby, on the hotel’s 22nd floor, will greet guests with a wall of windows, revealing the dramatic panorama of Las Vegas.

The Residences at Mandarin Oriental feature approximately 227 condominium residences situated on the upper floors of the hotel tower.
