Goldman Sachs Global Headquarters

The new global headquarters for Goldman Sachs received LEED Gold certification in September 2010. The tower features an environmentally-friendly raised floor, under-floor air system. Conditioned air for the occupants is provided by multiple environmental air towers located in the tenant space that deliver 62-degree air into a raised access floor plenum. This underfloor air system provides users with the ability to control their own space temperature as well as improving the ventilation effectiveness.

Veer Towers l MGM CityCenter

The Veer Towers are a masterful translation of energy and excitement into physical form. Inclined at dramatic five-degree angles, the towers seem to dance with each other. The two 38-storey residential high-rises accommodate approximately 335 condo residences for each building, placing residents close to CityCenter’s retail and entertainment core.

The entire development at CityCenter employs the latest environmental measures to reduce energy consumption and promote water conservation.

Mandarin Oriental Hotel and Residences l MGM CityCenter

One of the key aims for this project was to achieve a building design that was as durable and energy-efficient as possible within the taxing Las Vegas climate. Sustainable highlights include:

  • The building’s thermal façade system, using sustainable building materials and incorporating day-lighting controls, produces low emissions and reduces solar heat gain.

Royal Bank of Scotland Headquarters

The Royal Bank of Scotland's American Headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut received LEED Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. Some of its noteworthy sustainable initiatives include:

  • 100 percent of the building power requirements for the first two years of operations have been purchased from renewable sources, including hydro and wind generation. This purchase of more than 15 million kilowatt-hours of clean energy represents the largest purchase of its kind through the CTCleanEnergyOptions program.

Hearst Tower

The Hearst Tower was the first office tower in North America to use a diagonal grid ("diagrid") construction rather than vertical steel beams. This configuration reduced the total steel required by around 20%, contributing to the building's sustainability credentials. Other design features focus on low energy requirements and water conservation in use.

The Crystals

In 2010, the Crystals at the MGM Mirage CityCenter in Las Vegas achieved LEED Gold Core & Shell certification, making it the world's largest retail district to receive this level of recognition. Crystals' multi-faceted exterior was designed by Studio Daniel Libeskind; its dramatic glass canopy depicts the detailed beauty of a quartz crystal, welcoming an abundance of natural light into the three-level experiential environment.

30 Hudson Street

Located on a brownfield site, this 1,500,000 sf office for Goldman Sachs includes trading floors, amenity areas and administrative offices.  The tower is clad in a curtain wall system incorporating a decorative art of tubes which, when viewed under natural light, adds to the perceived building depth. Rising 42 stories at its peak and capped with an illuminated louvered glass crown, 30 Hudson is a landmark in Jersey City.  The tower was built in the Colgate Redevelopment Park, the site an old Colgate factory.

Transbay Transit Center

The six-level, 1,000,000 sf Transit Center is designed to achieve LEED Silver certification. As a critical component of the Bay Area regional public transportation network, the Transbay Transit Center Project contributes greatly to the regional sustainability goal of alternative public transportation to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, the project will incorporate many sustainable design and green building features, including a green roof, and environmentally-friendly elements to conserve water and energy.

MGCS Data Centre

Completed in early 2010, the new Data Centre for the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services (MGS) received LEED Gold Certification in 2011. The 218,830 sf mission-critical facility assists the Province of Ontario in implementing their objective of becoming an “e-government” by enabling client-focused, integrated, accessible and cost-effective IT services in an enterprise-level data centre.

The Facility contains a 2,790 m² raised floor area with provisions for future expansion of 2,790 m².
