John McMillan Associate
Since joining Adamson’s Toronto office in 2007, John has contributed his leadership skills and diverse experience to various commercial, cultural, institutional, and transportation projects, including the World Trade Center redevelopment (Towers 2 and 3), and the University of Toronto’s Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design heritage renovation and expansion, and Google’s Charleston East and Bay View campuses. A highly skilled and respected project manager, John’s design sensibility, technical expertise, and broad experience in all aspects of project implementation allow him to provide a holistic perspective. He has taken on the role of sustainability and healthy materials coordinator on recent projects.
After graduating from Carleton University’s School of Architecture in 1999, John was with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) where he was a key member on the Airport Architects Canada team (a joint venture of SOM, Adamson Associates, and Moshe Safdie Architects). As a team leader for the Toronto Pearson International Airport New Terminal Development, John provided full-time site representation and contract administration, served as the project-wide quality assurance coordinator, and assisted with the architectural coordination of the Owner’s extensive art program.
