Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital Expansion and Renovation

Designed by Adamson Associates Architects in joint venture with Parkin Architects Limited, the Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital expansion and renovation project provides the City of Burlington and surrounding community with improved access to a larger, modern hospital and more single patient rooms. The project involved the addition of a new seven-storey tower built on the existing parking lot at the back of the hospital which will connected to the parking facility by a foot bridge. In addition to the new tower, the project included significant renovations to other areas of the hospital.

The JBMH provides 172 additional beds in the new tower; additional beds in the Intensive Care Unit; a modern emergency department and a new main entrance; expanded diagnostic imaging services; nine modern operating rooms and a post-anesthetic care unit; an expanded cancer clinic; expanded ambulatory care programs; and renovations to the neo-natal intensive care unit.
