Providence Care Hospital

The Providence Care Hospital Healthcare Redevelopment will consolidate programs from the St. Mary’s of the Lake Hospital site and the Mental Health Services site of Providence Care in a new 638,000 sf, state-of-the-art health care facility. Serving residents of Kingston and surrounding communities, the new 270-bed facility will offer a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient programs including complex continuing care, specialised geriatrics, palliative care and mental health programs.

The new hospital will include single inpatient rooms that meet current infection control standards and adjacent therapy and treatment spaces to allow patients to receive care closer to their rooms. It will also feature on-site clinics for inpatients and outpatients and improved teaching, learning and research facilities that will support Providence Care’s role as a major centre for health education and research.

The project will incorporate a range of sustainable design strategies, with the goal of achieving LEED® Silver certification.
