Isle of Dogs Crossrail Station l Canary Wharf
Isle of Dogs Station is one of seven new underground stations in central London proposed as part of the Crossrail scheme. It will be situated within the West Indian North Dock, adjacent to the existing Canary Wharf development, and will provide access to existing and future developments within the locality.
The proposed scheme includes approximately 100,000 sf of new shops and restaurants designed by Foster + Partners, and a 'biodome'-style roof garden designed by Gillespies.
The landscaped park on the roof of the shops and cafés will use lush native plant species and water features, encouraging the ecological biodiversity of the Canary Wharf Estate and surrounding areas. It will be generally open-air except for an elegant timber lattice roof, providing shelter in bad weather and offering views of the dock and beyond.
