North American Life Centre Retail

Winner of a Limited Architectural Design Competition in 1983, the North American Life Centre was completed in two phases. Phase I was completed in 1987 and Phase II in 1992. The overall mixed use complex incorporates two office towers, ranging from 21 to 23 storeys in height, two levels of retail facing an interior courtyard, thirty-two condominiums and a senior citizens centre. The underground commercial component is directly linked to the Finch Subway Station for easy and direct access to and from the office towers. Thus, the North American Life complex became prime real estate, which paved the way to future development in the area. This project was awarded the 2000/2001 BOMA Office Building of the Year (over 1 million sf).
