One Bryant Park

Strategically located on the northwest corner of Bryant Park, this New York Headquarters for the Bank of America rises 55 floors above street level. The overall project combines significant public amenities and secure banking operations within a 'green' building. The public spaces includes the reconstruction of the landmark Henry Miller’s Theater (since renamed the Stephen Sondheim Theater), a mid-block pedestrian walkway, and a street level 'wintergarden' with operable glazed screens. Housed within the dramatic crystalline forms that sheath the podium and tower are the Bank of Americas trading operations, amenity functions, and administrative areas. The overall facility achieved LEED Platinum certification in May 2010 and the green concepts include pressurized underfloor plenums, co-generation, ice storage, breathing rooms, light sensors and extensive use of recycled and sustainable materials.
