The new residences of Briarwood Hall and Hollis Hall house a total of 639 students in two six-storey buildings. They are designed as individual housing units allowing a maximum of six students to live together sharing a common living room and bath facilities.
The exterior of the buildings incorporates a mix of stone, brick, glass and metal to achieve a modern interpretation of the strict master plan guidelines. The living room of each unit is cantilevered away from the building to allow a 180° view of the interior grassy plaza. The lounge on each floor is also cantilevered out from the building, allowing views to the cross-campus walk and to Manhattan on a clear day.
