Partially destroyed by the collapse of the World Trade Center in 2001, Adamson Associates, again working with Pelli Clarke Pelli, provided partial design development for the new façades, and full contract document and site services for the restoration work.
A four-man field office was set up to provide full-time inspection during construction. The project was fast-tracked to meet completion by the one-year anniversary of the September 11th tragedy.
In 2002, the project received the New York Construction News Award of Merit for Restoration.
