Contracts Coordinator

Our Toronto office is seeking a full-time Contracts Coordinator to join our Legal Department. Reporting to the CFO and Adamson’s in-house General Counsel, the successful candidate will be exposed to local and international negotiations and legal practices.

Duties:
• Working with the CFO, Principals, and Adamson’s in-house General Counsel to assist in the review of project client and sub-consultant agreements according to established Company policies and guidelines
• Under the direction and guidance of the in-house General Counsel and the CFO, draft sub-consultant Letters of Intent and Sub-Consultant agreements, and other related contractual documents as required
• Organize, track, ensure accuracy, update records and maintain filing of the contractual documents
• Review Owner change orders and draft sub-consultant change orders
• Organize, track, ensure accuracy, update records and maintain filing of Owner change orders and sub-consultant change orders
• Assist with review of Request for Proposals and coordinate submission of the legal information as required
• Research architectural licensing rules and submit applications and renewals
• Assist with our construction services team in the administration of construction contracts
• Other corporate matters as required

Required Skills:
• A minimum of 7 years’ experience in a similar role within the industries of construction, engineering, design/architecture or commercial real estate
• An understanding of how architectural projects are bid on and awarded is preferred
• Superior attention to detail and written communication skills are a must
• Understanding of Construction and Contract Law
• Demonstrated experience drafting, redlining and contributing to the negotiation of agreements
• Excellent organization skills, self-motivated, and the ability to work well under pressure with a high volume of files and a variety of management styles
• Law Clerk designation is a plus
