An ambitious, 60-acre mixed-use development and a key driver of economic growth in Toronto
In 2018, Toronto council approved the East Harbour Master Plan prepared by Adamson Associates Architects. This large mixed-use development provides for 10 million square feet of commercial development, including office, hotel, retail, institutional, entertainment, and cultural space. With the capacity to accommodate over 70,000 employees, future growth potential is supported by a planned multi-modal transit hub and commuter rail terminus.
The master plan reconnects the site back to the city after being excised by infrastructure and industrial uses for the better part of a century. Once complete, East Harbour will provide Toronto with a major new employment node in order to maintain a competitive advantage in the global market.
Henning Larsen Architects provided the Character Plan for the site and Toronto’s KPMB Architects designed the first building on the site, The Soap Building.
