A certified Interior Designer in the state of New York, Maiko joined AAI in 2018. Her more than two decades of experience began with a two-year stint with Rafael Viñoly Architects, and she later spent several years each working in Stuttgart and Azerbaijan. It was in Germany that she began to develop a specialty in enclosures, which she has continued to develop throughout her career with AAI.
Maiko is knowledgeable about standard and custom enclosure systems, and as an enclosure specialist, she has delivered several prominent projects from design through construction. Most recently, she applied this expertise to the supertall office tower at 270 Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. Her AAI projects also include the transformation of St. John’s Terminal, at 550 Washington, into a modern office complex that is now a Google headquarters. An avid collaborator and advocate for our clients, Maiko encourages open feedback while keeping document quality high. Her knowledge extends beyond constructability to include building maintenance, as well as a deep familiarity with New York City codes and regulations.
