Over the course of his career with Adamson, Michael has gained significant experience as a Team Lead on a range of important projects, including cultural, residential, commercial, retail, and transit-oriented developments. Through his contributions to projects such as the East Harbour Master Plan in Toronto, iconic London towers the Shard and 20 Fenchurch, the unbuilt Media Zone Abu Dhabi, and the Google Bay View and Gradient Canopy sites in California, Michael has developed expertise in planning, detailing, and delivering complex buildings, including a strong specialty in building envelopes.
Michael’s ability to optimize facade designs for construction has recently been proven on a range of projects with particularly challenging envelopes. Among these is the London office tower 2 Finsbury Avenue, a sustainability-focused development characterized by a facade comprising nearly 6,000 unitized panels that form eye-catching triangular patterns with external aluminium presswork that crosses the towers diagonally. He is also playing a leading role in our work on the Nunavut Inuit Heritage Centre, designed for Iqaluit by Danish firm Dorte Mandrup. Michael brings to this project particularly relevant experience: Not only will his expertise be critical for delivering an efficient building, but his personal experience growing up in the territory will help provide the team with stronger understanding of the Arctic’s conditions.
