This is a full-time permanent, working in-person position based in our Toronto office. Reporting to a Project Manager, the successful candidate will contribute to all phases of project development, from conceptual design through to construction administration. Working in collaboration with world renown Architects on projects that shape city skylines and redefine urban living through innovative, sustainable design.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Design & Documentation: Support Project Managers and Associates in developing design solutions and architectural expressions that align with client goals.
- Revit Production: Assemble comprehensive drawing sets (SD through CA) in REVIT, ensuring high standards of technical accuracy and design intent are maintained.
- Professional Development: Actively participate in the OAA Internship in Architecture Program (IAP), with the goal of attaining a license.
- Coordination: Coordinate with multi-disciplinary consultants (MEP, Structural) to integrate/coordinate engineering principles into the architectural model.
- Submissions: Prepare client presentation materials, design development documentation, construction documentation, contract administration and Authority submissions on a wide variety of projects under guidance from senior architects
Skills/Qualifications:
- Education: Completion of an accredited Master of Architecture (M.Arch) or professional undergraduate degree.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of postgraduate experience, ideally with a focus on large-scale commercial, mixed-use, or institutional buildings. Self-motivated individual capable of assuming increasing responsibility for both current and future projects. Highly proficient in producing Contract Documents in current versions of REVIT.
- Licensure Path: Currently enrolled as an Intern Architect with the OAA.
- Technical Proficiency: Highly proficient in REVIT with a strong knowledge of building technology and assembly, construction methodology, materials application and interpretation of manufacturers’ requirements.
- Code Knowledge: Solid understanding of the Ontario Building Code (OBC) and its application to complex building types.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset, capable of working in teams of 5–15.
Compensation: $65,000–$95,000 annually.
