About project

Positioned as the gateway to New York’s vibrant new district, Hudson Yards

At 2.9 million gross square feet, 50 Hudson Yards is one of New York City’s largest commercial office towers. Rising at the northwest corner of 33rd Street and 10th Avenue, the 58-storey building spans an entire city block in a vibrant, revitalized district. Providing easy access to public transit, the project boasts prominent entrances along Hudson Boulevard, 10th Avenue, and 33rd Street, as well as direct access to the No. 7 Subway extension from both street level and the below-ground retail corridor.

Designed by Foster + Partners, the tower soars over 1,000 feet high – the glass and Viscount White granite façade accentuating its verticality – and is crowned with an impressive light feature. The building’s height and location allow tenants to experience inspiring views of Manhattan, the Hudson River, Hudson Yards’ public square, and New York icons such as the Empire State Building.

Inside, the office levels are flooded with natural light and feature expansive, column-free floor plates that optimize lease spans and accommodate flexible, leading-edge workspaces devised to promote interaction and collaboration. Access to the Sky Lobby and upper tenant floors is swift and seamless, thanks to double-deck shuttle elevators – in combination with the first installation of TWIN elevators in New York City. Independently operating two elevator cabs in a single shaft, the TWIN system maximizes efficiency of space, as well as time for tenants and visitors travelling from the lobby level to destinations above the 23rd floor.

The lobby interiors are opulent and welcoming, comprising  a rich, elegant materials palette of marble, bronze, wood, and glass, along with accents of complex geometry. Foster + Partner’s design is the perfect complement to two massive sculptural works that occupy the space and were custom created for the project by artist Frank Stella. Additional amenities include Concourse Retail, pedestrian tunnels that connect to transit and an adjacent Retail building, and Executive Valet parking with access to vehicle elevators at the porte cochere.

The project is designed to meet LEED Gold standards.
