About project

Soaring more than 1,000 feet over mid-town Manhattan, 53W53 provides 160 luxury residences atop the Museum of Modern Art

53W53 is an iconic 1,050-foot-high residential project rising above The Museum of Modern Art. Designed by Ateliers Jean Nouvel, 53W53’s distinctive silhouette pays homage to the classic towers that shaped the New York skyline, while creating a paradigm for the skyscraper of the future. The innovative exposed structural system – the diagrid – gives the facade of the tower a distinctly angular rhythm, which, when combined with floor-to-ceiling windows, provides a unique architectural context through which to view Central Park and the Manhattan skyline.

The sweeping 82-storey, 750,000-square-foot tower includes 160 high-end condominium residences. In addition, the building’s lower floors offer more than 50,000 square feet of new exhibition space for the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), distributed over three floors.

The tower features an extensive package of amenities including a high-performance fitness facility boasting a 65-foot lap pool, and 24-hour concierge service.
