A skilled technologist, Cornelius gained his first industry experience producing shop drawings for a precast concrete supplier during his time as a student. In his years with Adamson, he has developed advanced knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and impressive proficiency in creating high-quality contract documents. His strong skills with modelling software have supported the set-up of multiple Adamson projects with large consultant teams, including the 2.5 million-square-foot Ottawa Civic Hospital Redevelopment project.
Cornelius’s project experience includes a New York City skyscraper – the Spiral, designed by Bjarke Ingels Group – and CIBC Square, a mixed-use Toronto development featuring twin towers connected by an elevated park. As part of the cladding team for the latter project, Cornelius coordinated with local transit authorities to resolve the connection of a glass-wrapped bridge to the adjacent Union Station. For the 700 University project, Cornelius became familiar with the Toronto Transit Commission’s master specifications and design manual while working with the transit agency and City planning officials to coordinate a sub-grade connection to a TTC subway station.
