David received his Bachelor of Architecture from University of Natal in Durban, South Africa in 1982 and his Master of Architecture from 1986 - 1987 the Southern California Institute of Architecture in Los Angeles, CA in 1987. His experience encompasses a wide range of building types with a particular focus on arts and culture project. Prior to joining Adamson, he was a Senior Associate at Gehry Partners from 1988 to 2006 where he contributed his skills to such as iconic projects as the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Art Gallery of Ontario, and the Experience Music Project.
For four years, David was a Studio Director at Daly Genik Architects in Santa Monica where he worked on the Exhibit Design for the Huntington Library, the Ostin Music Center at UCLA, the Harvard University Art Museum and the Master Plan for the UCLA Music Facilities. Immediately, prior to joining Adamson, he was a Firmwide Leader (Arts and Culture) and Project Director at Gensler imparting his talents to such illustrious projects as the Broad Museum, The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, and the Berggruen Institute – all in Los Angeles CA.
David is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the Board of Santa Monica College Associates, the ASIA Society, and a visiting critic at SCI-ARC, UCLA, USC for undergraduate and graduate design and technology courses.
