Yan Chu is an Associate Principal in our New York office. She provides technical leadership and establishes the office’s standards on system design, detailing, and specification of enclosures across all projects.
Prior to joining AAI, Yan was a façade consultant at Heintges & Associates working on projects such as the New Whitney Museum of American Arts, South Street Seaport Pier 17, and the Vassar College Bridge Building, a Project Manager with Front, Inc.’s New York office; and for 12 years, she worked on several complex façade projects in Asia.
She has worked in the architectural profession since 1998. Yan has taught as an Assistant Instructor at California College of Arts and Princeton University SOA; has been a member of the Adjunct Faculty of Rensselaer Polytechnic University; an Assistant Professor at the University of Hong Kong; and a Guest Lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania.
Yan received her Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus on Architecture from UC Berkeley and holds a Master of Architecture from Princeton University.
