Yan Chu joined our New York City team in 2017. Her projects with the firm include such prominent commercial developments as 50 Hudson Yards, 550 Washington, the Spiral, and 550 Madison Avenue. She is the lead enclosure specialist for the office, and she supports our teams with expert guidance on key issues posed by complex building facade design and zoning/code challenges.
As a student at Princeton, Yan developed a fascination with the balance between the technical and social aspects of architecture, which has informed the direction of her career. She went on to focus on facade design and engineering at Front Inc. and eventually joined Heintges, where she spent several years working closely with architects and developers on projects such as Pier 17 and the new Whitney Museum.
Yan plays an active role in leadership and mentorship at AAI. Her recent projects include two of the most high-profile towers currently under construction in New York City: 270 Park Avenue, and the new Rolex headquarters at the corner of 5th Avenue and 53rd Street. She is also leading work in Miami, playing a critical part in our organization developing a presence in the city.
