Alan has over 35 years of experience in construction and architectural practice. Over the course of his career, he has gained a comprehensive understanding of the industry through work in design practice as well as with contractors and developers.
Alan first worked with our firm in the mid-1990s, in Kuala Lumpur. As a design manager representing the Petronas Towers’ contractor, Alan had regular interaction with Adamson’s Executive Architect team throughout the project. He joined our London office as a Project Manager in 2000, contributing to our work at Heron Quays, Canary Wharf, for four years before leaving to serve in design manager roles with two London-based contractors, and then with developer Wood Wharf Partnership. Alan rejoined Adamson in 2009 to lead our work on the Shard, as well as other elements of the London Bridge Quarter redevelopment. He was made a Director of our firm in 2011 and a Principal in 2014.
Among Alan’s strengths are his ability to build and maintain strong relationships with architects, developers, and clients. He works closely with stakeholders and consultants to achieve a balance between often-competing concerns of design aspirations and budget. His wealth of experience working on various sides of a project enables him to effectively identify project objectives and coordinate large, multi-disciplinary teams to ensure that these objectives are met in a timely fashion.
