Domenic Virdo is a Principal in the Toronto office of Adamson Associates

Domenic imparts to our team a skillful blend of design and technical skills. Over his career, Domenic has led a wide range of building types — commercial, institutional, cultural, and large, mixed-use developments — and at all scales including planning studies, master plans, interior design, fit-outs, and core + shell design.

He brings particular expertise in the design development of projects with complex program requirements, diverse client groups, and large, multi-disciplinary teams where his excellent communication skills and spirit of collaboration invariably lead to design solutions that exceed client expectations.

Since joining our team, Domenic has contributed his skills to several award-winning projects including One Bryant Park and Hearst Tower renovation in New York; the Porta Nuova Garibaldi mixed-use development in Milan, Italy; and the MaRS Centre in Toronto. In the past decade, he has led several of our hospital projects for Infrastructure Ontario including the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, the Providence Hospital Healthcare redevelopment in Kingston, and the Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital in Burlington, Ontario. Currently, he is the Principal-in-Charge of two of Toronto's largest mixed-use developments, The Well in downtown Toronto and the 2150 Lakeshore Boulevard campus on the former Christie Cookies site.

Domenic holds a Master of Architecture from Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Michigan and a Bachelor of Technology (Architectural Sciences) from Ryerson Polytechnic University in Toronto, Ontario. He is a member of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada and is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. He is licensed to practice architecture in the Provinces of Ontario, British Columbia, and Alberta as well as the State of New York.
